Content Creators 7. Values Framework
So, I will talk about the values framework we’ve used for content creation for the better part of 14 years. It’s the starting point. It’s not the complete picture. But for as long as I can remember, I have always worked for businesses that have had a value alignment with who I am. It was often the thing that would come up in job interviews where people asked, Why do you want to work with us?
Well, you’ve got these values on your website, and these are the reasons why. And so I would always work with those organisations, which became a really important, integral part of who I was. It became an integral part of my business, the people I attracted, the staff and employees I brought on board, and the clients.
We often talk about brand misalignment and value misalignment. And that’s often when we don’t get the right customers. Value alignment is really about helping you attract the right people for your business that you want to work with. If 99% of your customers are fantastic because they align with your values, you’ll love everything you do. If you’re dealing with 99% of people who are just driving you mentally, it’s probably because your messaging, values, and messaging aren’t reflected.
