Content Creators 5. Tools To Automate
I will talk a bit about scheduling and tools to automate your business, the marketing, and the content within your business. But first of all, I’m going to tell you a story of when I started my business and some of the mistakes that I made. One of those mistakes was that I would reply to emails at 3 a.m. in the morning.
What happens when you reply to emails at 3 a.m.? People start sending you emails at 3 a.m. And so, a lot of what I learned from that was having healthy boundaries around that technology, such as that you can now schedule your emails to go out at a slightly more sane time. I schedule my emails, and I might write them at 3 a.m. Still, sometimes, I schedule them to go out at 8 a.m. Now, there’s some other things that also exist in terms of social media. It can be a time-consuming and relentless job to try and post on social media to the level needed for you to get the engagement to grow your business.
Many people are horrified when I tell them that, on average, we will post anywhere from 2 to 6 times a day on any social media platform. That’s much content. But the trick from the previous module we were talking about is creating a story bank, a content bank that culminates high-impact content that comes into smaller, tinier bits.
So, each of these platforms has scheduling tools now, and a lot of them for those that don’t. There are tools that support those tools. I will give you some guides within this module that you can download, look at or watch, and you’ll be able to resource them better. Now, there are some other things in terms of automation that many people need to consider when it comes to content.
So, things like email sequences and tools called Zapier and ‘If This, Then That (IFTTT)’ connect one thing to another. If somebody were to inquire about a Facebook lead-gen ad, that email would come to you. You could get that sent to you as a text message. You could automate the email to say, “Hey, we’re going to give you a call in the next 24 hours” to prepare them, and you can do all of that without actually blinking an eyelid.
So, all that content allows you that time to save for that initial customer touch. That’s not to take away from your interaction with the human being, but it helps give you some spaciousness around that lead generation.
